After Yellow Towel and Mercurial George, the Montreal-based choreographer and performer Dana Michel is preparing a new creation coming this fall in several museum places. Between two residencies creation, she presents this week JAMS DO JAMS at the MAC, during Françoise Sullivan’s exhibition.
Mark Lanctôt gived a free rein to the choreographer who chose to develop a research lab open to the public, called JAMS DO JAMS. With the company of the interdisciplinary artist Tracy Maurice, the choreographer realize in live, a 10 shorts movies made into the exhibition’s rooms, from October 23 to November,3.
In a transparent way, Dana Michel imagine hybrids works, beginning a conversation between choreography, live-art, improvisation and cinematography. With her work, we can see an homage to the artistic values of Françoise Sullivan. Through this scenario, sometimes comical and sometimes experimental, Dana Michel investigate human behavior and his different identity aspects.
